The only object which comes close to the processing power of the human brain is the computer, or is that the other way around? With the constantly evolving technological landscape, that question is a tricky one. Some say within computing are the keys to the next human evolutionary step. Others say computers themselves will be the next form of life on this planet’s evolutionary cycle. Others still see them merely as tools to improve our lives (or improve their control over their empires). Perhaps all of these are true. Only time will tell how the invention of computing will effect mankind and planet Earth.
